Irish girl guides visit to Czech Republic
Ahoj!
My name is Nonie Hickey and I am a leader with the Irish Girl Guides. On 7th August we will be travelling to the Czech Republic for a week. We have done some research on the Czech Republic for our visit and of course this included looking at guiding.
We have a programme of activities organised but would love to meet up with some of your girls if at all possible and maybe have a campfire or some activity.
We will be staying at:Mucha, Lomema 158, CZ-252 29 Dobrichovice Okres Praha Zapad Czech Republic.
My mobile No. is 087–9527003 should you like to make contact with us while there.
The Jeka office could also be a contact place – phone (420)25771 2049 and Filip is our rep.
I do understand that this is holiday time and your girls may be away or camping but it would be a pity to miss out on this if it was at all possible.
We have travelled to Austria, Switzerland and Hungry on these trips and have always been lucky to meet up with somebody to have a campfire.
Yours in Guiding

Scout from Kanada Hello I was in contact with Marek Batelka on scoutface social network and he gave me this data base link to look for point of contacts for scouting in the Liberec area. I have started a 77 day backpack trip to explore parts of Poland and Czech Republic. During the trip I hope to connect with scouting folk along the way. I did attempt to contact people through the international office of CZ scouting and they put out a request if anyone wanted help during a scout camp. I am sure I will meet up with scouting people along the way but one of my areas to explore more is Liberec so if anyone cares to make contact please do so to h2ocalm@hotmail.com and I will be glad to wríte and introduce myself . thanks for your time good scouting. Guides from England
Hello,
We are a group of 4 Guides from England, aged 20–22 years old. As Girl Guiding is 100 years old this year, we are travelling around Europe for two weeks to try and visit as many different countries as possible. We hope to be in Prague on 28th-29th July, and were wondering if you could recommend anything for us to do, any Scout or Guide events that we could visit, or if we would be able to meet some Scouts or Guides in Prague while we are there.
We would love to be able to meet other Scouts of Guides while we are in the Czech Republic.
I look forward to hearing from you,
Katherine Chandler

Polish scouts are willing to meet scouts from Czech Republic
Polish scouts associated in ZHP (WOSM and WAGGGS member) are willing to meet scouts from Prague during their trip to Czech Republic. They are also hoping that Czech scouts will be kind enough to find a place for them to stay for one or two nights. The details are below. I hope that you will be able to supply us with your kind help.
Polish scouts group consist of 12 to 18 people aged 16 and more (the leaders). They belong to Warsaw Scout And Guide Region of ZHP (Polish Scouting and Guiding Association). They will arrive to Prague on May 21 and are looking for the place to spend night of 21/22 and – if possible – also 22/23 of May. From what they told me, the best place would be a scout room.
Polish scouts would be happy to have an urban game through the city of Prague with Czech scouts. After that it would be nice to meet together and have a conversation about scouting.

Travel through Europe My name is Amy Elvey and I am a proud mother of a 14 year-old Scout who is soon to become and Eagle Scout. I may have contacted some of you previously because I am planning a trip to Europe for my son and I this July. Because my son is so very interested in Scouting, I thought it would be wonderful to make connections with other Scouts through our travels.

Uk Girlguides visiting Prague
We are a team of Rangers from the United Kingdom. We will visit the Czech Republic between the 1st to the 5th of August (To be confirmed) as part of a journey across Europe. This journey celebrates the centenary of Girlguiding UK. Each team has to organise travel, accommodation, food and complete challenges. As part of our travel, we would like to meet guides and scouts in the countries we visit. Perhaps your guides and scouts could join in with us, completing our challenges? Please could you put us in contact with a local Ranger group located close to Prague?
We would like to learn how to play a traditional Czech game or learn how to make a traditional game that we could then share with girl guides here in the UK. We have also been challenged to visit a science/ technology establishment, which we are finding very hard to find on the Internet! Would your Rangers like to meet us and help? In your country we also plan to visit Prague Castle, Charles Bridge and the astronomical clock as well as seeing the Holocaust memorial in Pinkas Synagogue. Would your Rangers like to join us?
Our team includes 6 Rangers aged 16–20 and 2 Leaders aged 22–26. We have two French speakers and one Spanish speaker. Everyone else speaks only English. But we all like to learn if you can teach us!
Because we have so much to do, in a small amount of time, our meeting will be brief. We will be arriving in Prague in the evening on the 1/08/10 and leaving Prague in the afternoon on the 4/08/10 so it would be wonderful to meet some scouts during this time!
French rover group looking for a partner group
I'm in charge of the „pionnier“ scout caravan from Levallois-Perret in France (near Paris). It's a group of 15 boys between 14 and 17 years old, managed by 3 responsibles (including me) between 21 and 22 years old.
We plan to go to Czech Republic during summer 2010, from July 24th to August 9th. We'll spend our first week in Bartosovice, in the mountains and the second one in Tuchomerice in order to restore an abbey, where we'll stay within the „Communaute du Chemin Neuf“ (roman catholic new community). We are looking forward to meet czech scouts, during 1 or 2 days, to share on both our cultures as well as to have deeper friendly relationship than only touristic ones. Your help to meet a group of young boys (14 – 17 years old) would be very much appreciated.

Canadian scouter travels
My name is Derek Amos living on Vancouer Island BC I have been active in the scouting world since 1973 Worked mostly with the troop age youth and Venturers (11 to 18 ) Over the years have held many positions such as Troop Scouter, Venturer Advisor, Assistant District Commissioner, Regional Commissioner for scouts on Vanouver Island except for the Victoria area. A woodbadge trainer (three beads) due to the time in have had the honour of recieving several awards. Have attended several Jamboree's (world provincial and national)J I just retired from the Canadian Air Force after 21 years of service and is taken time to travel and see more of the world at a slower pace. At present I am going to fly into Frankfurt Germany around the 22nd May and make my way into the Czech Republic visting towns along the way attempting to see most of the country and at some point travel up to Poland to the coast and make my way back down exploring for a return to Frankfurt during the first week of August. Travel plans are rather loose hoping to be able to just travel as unfolds. I was hoping to take in the culture of the countries (food- music- art- camping and some form of water acitivity such as rafting or canoeing . That is why the idea of involving scouting (with locals) rather than with the tourist runnning around on a time frame might be the best to get the most out of what a country has to offer. I hope the words make sense some times the typed words do not read as they were intend to mean. No matter how many time you read it before sending the email. I have been lucky to be part of a scouting project in Costa Rica for three weeks building a community pool on the scout property back in 2003. Scouting has a common interest and more often than not it is like an extended family that open doors to the world. For futher information you can see me on scoutface and Facebook networks (Derek Amos) Thanks for your time cheers for now before I ramble to much
Polish rover/ranger leaders looking for a partner group
We are a small group of Polish rover/ranger scout leaders from Warsaw's Mokotów district, who are looking for a partner group. This may be either a group of rover/ranger leaders (preferably) or a rover/ranger troop. There will be between 5 and 10 people taking part in the project from our side, the youngest is 18 years old and the oldest (the group's leader) is 29. Most of us are female. What we would like to do is visit rover/ranger leaders in another European country to exchange ideas and talk of our experiences, in order to learn and possibly implement the new ideas in our work. This may be in the form of a mini-seminar or workshop. Of course the details will be discussed with our partners. Our preferred time for the visit is April 6–11, 2010. During the visit we would like to get to know not only your scouting ideas but also your country/city, its sights and culture.
What we need:
• time you can spend with us in the above period (just two-three days will be enough, unless you want more, but no longer than the six days mentioned), • your ideas, experience, willingness to exchange them. We will also appreciate any help you can offer in finding accommodation for us and in sightseeing (but we are prepared to work on that ourselves too). It would also be great to see rovers in action if possible.
What we can offer:
•organising an exchange visit in Poland in a period to be discussed with you, •our ideas, experience, openness, enthusiasm, •our training skills in case you want us to demonstrate any particular ideas. YiS Kamila Wajszczuk

British rangers looking for a partner group
We are a group of 5 Girlguides from Newcastle upon Tyne, England. We are all aged 16 – 18 and are members of the Senior Section. At our weekly Senior Section (Ranger) meetings we do things like dancing and crafts as well as a lot of eating and chatting and we love to meet up with other members of Girlguiding! This summer 2010, we are taking part in a Girlguiding adventure called the Centenary Stampede, to celebrate the centenary of Guiding. This involves us travelling around 5 European countries in 2 weeks, completing challenges along the way, including a special challenge which must be completed in the country we are in at the time. One of the countries we plan to visit is the Czech Republic and we plan to stay in Prague. This would be sometime in the first week of August. Here, our country challenge is to sing the song 'Good King Wenceslas' in the square of that name. We also have challenges to meet Guides from the countries we visit and experience their food and culture. Therefore, we would love to meet up with some of you – we can swap Guiding games, songs and maybe even establish a penpal system between our units.
